2014 – I was pleasantly surprised when I got a phone call from my friend, film director Onir, asking me if I wanted to act in his new film SHAB as “Rohan”. It is a small character role in Onir’s and Sanjay Suri’s new independent feature film. I have been on independent “Bollywood” film location sets and Mumbai studios for many years hovering as a photographer around actors capturing stills. This time it is different. I have to be in front of the camera, opposite my normal stance of being behind the lens. Within hours of saying yes to Onir, I was up doing an audition early hours in Delhi. Well, I am glad I said yes, I got the part! We completed shooting the 2nd schedule of the feature film Shab in Delhi. Thank you Onir and Sanjay for my debut in Indian cinema as an actor – looking forward to the journey !
