45 Years of Frank’s Fruit

A short documentary by Raj Suri

Here is my little short documentary contribution to Frank Bonfante Family and thousands of hard working multi culture Australians.  Multiculture Australians have enriched Australia for decades and continue to do so even today. In small business, culture and all walks of Aussie life.

Frank retired recently from active business after 45 years. Frank and Mary Bonfante family have been serving quality fresh fruit and vegetables to the community all his working adult life.

Frank’s Fruit Market was established in February 1974, in Haberfield, in the inner west Sydney, Australia. Just 22 years old, Frank ambitiously took over an already existing business that was in desperate need of attention.  Frank Bonfante was 13 when he arrived in Australia from a little island off the coast of Sicily called Lipari in Italy. Frank’s father Gaetano Bonfante was a farmer by day and a fisherman by night. Frank’s Fruit Market is a small business which has served three generations in Sydney and still continues today (2019), under new management.
